Teachers will explore the use of museum artifacts and objects in creating activities. Participants will develop
various assessment pieces such as Document Based and Constructed Response Questions based on visits
to their favorite museum. These activities could educationally enhance on site or classroom based field trip
experiences for the student by developing pre-visit activities, research during the visit, and a follow up

writing/assessment component. This four-day program will include classroom instruction on development and uses
of teacher generated assessment pieces as well as a museum site visits for creation of products by participants.
The program will be modeled after the highly successful Object Based Assessment program at the Robertson
          Museum in Binghamton.
