Summer 2009 Workshop

                    Living History “Hands On” Battle of Plattsburgh - The Forgotten War

          Open to all
          Prerequisite: none
          Instructor: Joe Ryan, LHEF
          Friday - Sunday: September 18, 19, & 20 Time: 4:30 p.m. Friday. to 2:00 p.m. Sunday
          Place: 4:30 @ NCTRC on Friday (Saturday at 9:00 a.m. @ BOPA Campus)
          Cost: $250 
          Register by: August 28
          2 in-service credits

           This course will use the Living History approach to the War of 1812.  Participants will spend 24 hours in period
          dress in an authentic encampment on Lake Champlain.  Historic sites, museum artifacts and guest presenters will
          bring the Battle of Plattsburgh to light. The Living History cross curricular approach will be utilized to study the
          social, military, economic, geographical and cultural factors that have shaped our history. 
          Join Joe Ryan, founder of the Living History Education Foundation for this unique local history experience.
          A complete itinerary will be sent to participants upon receipt of registration confirmation.
