The word Moodle is actually an acronym for Modular Object-Oriented
Dynamic Learning Environment.
The name is long and complicated-sounding, but Moodle is actually
easy to use in every classroom at every
grade level. This technology is free, available on any computer
with internet access, and includes the possibility
of
creating web sites, online courses, quizzes, surveys, links for
online activities, and more. Educators can use
Moodle as a one-time activity or even a whole course! This course
will introduce the basics of Moodle for new
users, and explore further activities for educators already familiar
with the technology.
Interested teachers should check with their district technology
coordinator before the end of the school year
to
see if Moodle is already installed
and ask to have a course set up in your name. You will leave
this course
with many useful ideas and
activities that are set-up and ready to go in September!
