In this workshop participants will explore the EdVideo Online Training at the PowerMedia Site . Learn how to access and download videos and images in different subject areas. The content is aligned to many of the NY state standards. This session includes a hands-on tour of the site as well as suggestions for incorporating video into your curriculum.

Integrating SMART Technology Part II
This 15 hour course will give
participants the opportunity to continue using the SmartBoard tools and
enhancements to create a notebook for the classroom. Participants will
incorporate the skills obtained during the“Integrating SMART
Technology Part I” with
newly acquired skills including; importing video into the notebooks,
using animation, sounds and more. Participants will create and share
projects at the conclusion of the five sessions.
Note: Participants must have completed the“Integrating SMART Technology Part I”

Mental Health Screening, Education and Referral
The goal of this workshop is two-fold.
The first part of the program will focus on updating educators on the
“Columbia Teen Screen Pilot Project” in the
Plattsburgh City Schools. Teenscreen is an adolescent mental health and
suicide-screening initiative, active
in 43 states and supported by 34 national organizations. Participants
will receive information on how the program works and the outcome data
to date. The second part of the program will be to share information
and provide materials on health education that can be incorporated by
teachers across the curriculum for all grade levels.

Integrating SMART Technology
The SMART Board is an interactive whiteboard which turns your computer
and projector into a powerful tool for teaching, collaborating and
presenting. The SMART Board allows the user to control any application.
Simply project the computer image onto the board and use the board's
large touch-sensitive surface to control the application. Participants
will demonstrate a basic understanding of the SMART Board including;
the SMART Notebook software and tools, working with SMART Board
templates, using the SMART Recorder and the SMART Video Player.
Participants will have an opportunity to develop a SMART project to
share and use in their classroom.
