Services Provided

The County Office for the Aging is the focal point for services to the elderly of Clinton County. The agency utilizes Federal, State, and County funds to provide a broad array of services directly and indirectly through service contracts with other agencies. Copies of Focus on the Elderly, a directory of services, are available from the agency upon request.

Legal Assistance Services for the Elderly are contracted through Clute, Clute, and Thompson, 121 Bridge Street, Plattsburgh, NY 12901. The firm's telephone number is 518-563-4884.

Service Eligibility

Persons 60 years of age and older are served by the agency. The target population is the very old, the frail and disabled, those who are isolated, live alone, are low income and are members of minority groups.

Referral Procedure

Information and referral services are provided by the agency. Home visits are provided by outreach workers as needed.

Comments: Sliding schedule is for EISEP sponsored in home services only.

Volunteer Opportunities

Use of the RSVP volunteer placement bureau is encouraged.

Additional Information

Sliding Scale is used for the Expanded In-Home Services for the Elderly Program (EISEP). Other than for this program no fees are charged for services provided by the County Office for the Aging or its contract agencies. However, voluntary contributions are accepted.
