Services Provided

The County Office for the Aging provides funding for a number of programs carried out by contract agencies, many of which are found elsewhere in this edition of the Human Resources Directory. These programs include the Caregiver Resource Center, Senior Outreach Program, Nutrition Program for the Elderly, Senior Center, Transportation, Senior Sentinel newspaper, Housing Case Manager, Lifeline Personal Emergency Response System, Senior Community Service Employment Program, Swim and Gym Programs through the YMCA, Insurance Counseling, and the Long Term Care Ombudsman Program.

Service Eligibility

Persons 60 years of age and older are served by the agency. The target population is the very old, the frail and disabled, those who are isolated, live alone, are low income and are members of minority groups.

Referral Procedure

Information and referral services are provided by the agency. Home visits are provided by outreach workers as needed.
