Services Provided

Cornell Cooperative Extension is Clinton County's link with the research-based educational resources of Cornell University, New York State's Land Grant institution. In this role, the purpose of Cooperative Extension is to use those resources to provide educational programs that benefit the County's youth, families, and communities. The practical educational programs are based on research from Cornell and other higher educational institutions, and include these areas: increasing agricultural profitability; consumer horticulture and gardening; pesticide safety education; developing youth potential; strengthening individual, family, and community resources; and nutritional and health improvement. The 4-H youth club programs provide many recreational and learning opportunities for youth 6-18 that include horsemanship, dairy farming, crafts and arts, citizenship, and leadership. Cooperative Extension is informal and reaches out to people where they live and work, in addition to classroom education.
