Services Provided
Diagnostic: Medical and/or psychological examination to determine severity of disability and vocational evaluation to help person establish suitable employment goal. Services to help person reach job goal including: counseling and guidance to help with work-related problems; medical restoration to help improve ability to work; educational development or skill training to qualify for work; meal allowance, books, tools, and transportation while in training; supported employment with job coaching at work site to help person learn skills and retain job; job placement services; follow-up services to assure person is not experiencing problems at work. Critical component to transition services to students with disabilities exiting high school. Malone District Office employs professional vocational rehabilitation counselors who meet with disabled individuals in their home area in Clinton, Essex, Franklin, and St. Lawrence counties. Consumers, in some instances, may have to pay for a portion of training costs.

Individual with emotional, mental, and/or physical disability which interferes or prevents person from obtaining suitable employment; financial assistance for some services based on financial resources of individual and that person's economic need

Volunteer Opportunities
Limited. Tutoring in academic areas, working as an assistant with vocational rehab counselors, general office work in the Malone District Office, etc.
