Services Provided

The Senior Center offers a variety of recreational and educational activities. The monthly calendar of events is publicized in the Press-Republican and the Senior Sentinel. The Senior Center also serves as a nutrition site. The Senior Sentinel is published by the Senior Citizens Council ten times a year and is distributed by mail and through the local newspaper to approximately 18,000 households, businesses and institutions. Free to seniors of the county, the Sentinel contains information about services, activities, and legislation o interest to seniors. The Senior Council van provides transportation to the Senior Center nutrition site located within the city of Plattsburgh. The van also transports seniors from the Center to local shopping areas and back twice a week. Seniors from Altona and Rouses Point are transported into Plattsburgh one day each month as well.

Cornerstone House (apartments for seniors) is located at 12 Battery Street in Plattsburgh. The Council's Nutrition Program and Title V Employment Training services are located at 45 Veterans Lane in Plattsburgh
