Hours of Operation
Vocational Rehabilitation services to facilitate employment for individuals who are blind. Transition services for High School students who are blind to plan employment strategies while students are still in school.
Services are available to individuals who are legally blind and to visually impaired children. Counseling and consultation; coordination of services with other providers; development of service plans; funding for medical diagnostics; vocational guidance; low vision services (functional vision assessment and optical devices to enhance remaining eyesight); orientation and mobility training; skills for safe foot travel and use of public transportation; rehabilitation teaching for skills of blindness; training in adaptive skills for daily living; adjustment to blindness; (continued under "Additional Information")
All ages; medical report of legal blindness required.

(cont. from "Services Provided")--vocational evaluation; prevocational and vocational training; sponsorship for college training; placement services and on-the-job training; employment training; adaptive computer assessment and training in skills for use of screen enlargement and voice output. Staff available for consultation on questions regarding services related to blindness and to travel to meet applicants at home, school or work site.
CBVH also provides homemaker training to elderly adults with age-related blindness to promote safety and independence
