Services Provided
The Penfield Foundation is a non-profit organization established in 1962, dedicated to the preservation of the buildings and grounds of the Penfield Homestead and the perpetuation of Ironville's history and heritage. The Foundation's properties now total 550 acres, including the Homestead, the parsonage, the church, the former Penfield farm and barns, the mill pond, and the site of the Crown Point Iron Company's iron works along Putt's Creek. The Penfield Foundation oversees the running of the Penfield Homestead Museum which includes a 19th century homestead, barns church, ruins of the Crown Point Iron Co. forge, Civil War and local history displays. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the "Birthplace of the Electrical Age", being the site of the first industrial application of electricity in the USA.

Set: $2 adults; $1 children
Comments: Memberships available to all who share an interest in the area's history and heritage
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are requested for special events. Crafters are welcome to demonstrate their skills during special events.
